The Honourable Phillip Watts, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, in collaboration with the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SporTT), hosted the National Under-16 Netball Recognition Ceremony under the theme “Victory Royale: Celebrating the Caribbean Princesses” at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of the 2025 and 2026 Trinidad and Tobago U16 Netball Teams. In 2025, the team ended a 21-year title drought to reclaim the Jean Pierre Caribbean Youth Netball Championship, while the 2026 squad successfully defended the title on home soil, reaffirming the country’s regional dominance.
Minister Watts praised the teams for their discipline and excellence, stating that their success reflects what is possible when young talent is supported and given opportunities to thrive. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to using sport as a platform for youth development, leadership, and national pride.
The Ministry extends congratulations to the players, coaches, and support staff for their dedication and for inspiring the next generation of netballers.
