The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs (MSYA) provides financial assistance through its Grants Programme to support the development of sports and youth initiatives. The programme offers funding to individuals, organizations, and communities, including elite and high-performance athletes, to support training, competition, education, and development projects.
These funding opportunities are intended to strengthen sporting excellence and youth development at national and international levels. Applicants are encouraged to review the available Grants for further details.

Funding is disbursed via cheque payment made in the applicant's name (Individual/Organisation). The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs does not facilitate wire transfers for funding.
Yes. Following the receipt of grant funds, you are required to submit a financial report, including copies of receipts, photographs, and any other supporting documentation, within three (3) months of receiving the funds or prior to the submission of a new grant application, whichever occurs first. Reporting requirements may vary depending on the type of funding awarded, and recipients will be advised of the specific requirements applicable to their grant.
Failure to submit the required financial report may result in the suspension or termination of the grant and may require the repayment of funds disbursed. In accordance with its policies, the Ministry also reserves the right to suspend, terminate, or require the repayment of financial assistance where a grant recipient fails to meet reporting obligations, withholds material information relating to the sponsorship, or uses grant funds for any purpose inconsistent with the approved application.
Any such default will affect the recipient's eligibility for future grant funding, the determination of which shall be at the sole discretion of the Ministry.

There is no set timeframe for processing an application. Applicants should submit their application at least three (3) months before the scheduled start date of the event or activity, to allow for adequate processing.
No! Once an application has been submitted, it cannot be edited. If changes or additional documents are required, the applicant would be contacted by the Grants Secretariat, Youth Division or Sport Division.
Incomplete applications or applications missing required documents will be delayed, pending the submission of all required documents. Applicants should carefully review all requirements before submitting. The date on which the completed application form and all the required supporting documents are attached and submitted to the Ministry is the date of receipt of the application.
Applications are assessed based on eligibility for the grant, completeness of the application, alignment with programme objectives, project feasibility, expected impact and available funding. *Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee approval.
