Trinidad and Tobago Anti-Doping Organisation (TTADO)

The Trinidad and Tobago Anti-Doping Organisation (TTADO) was established in 2013 under the Anti-Doping in Sport Act (Act No. 10 of 2013), to regulate sporting organisations and educate athletes on sport-related doping matters. However, Trinidad and Tobago has been a signatory to the UNESCO’s International Convention against Doping in Sport since March, 2007.

In recent years, our Anti-Doping compliance level has evolved rapidly, rising from a Limited Compliance Rating of 52.4% in 2021, to a Compliant 71.4% in 2023, and achieving a High Compliance rating of 80% in 2025.

The Board of the Trinidad and Tobago Anti-Doping Organisation (TTADO), appointed in January 2026, works alongside the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (Caribbean RADO), and the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, to enforce Legislation, and support education and testing through the TTOC to maintain the integrity of local sports.

TTADO has had its National Anti-Doping Rules approved by WADA and continues to work towards becoming fully operational and a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code by January 01, 2027.

The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs has a pivotal role in ensuring national compliance with global clean-sport standards. The Ministry’s successful application to UNESCO’s Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport in 2025, demonstrates our commitment to building national and regional capacity, and advancing our current sporting landscape.
