Trinidad Boxing Board of Control (TBBC)

The Trinidad and Tobago Boxing Board of Control (TBBC) is the official Government-appointed regulatory body responsible for overseeing, promoting, and licensing professional boxing within our twin-island republic.

Operating under the Boxing Control Act, Chapter 21:52, the Board sanctions official bouts, enforces medical and safety protocols, and works alongside the Trinidad and Tobago Boxing Association (TTBA), to manage national teams and to develop our athletes.

The Board fulfils several critical administrative and legislative responsibilities such as:

  • Event Sanctioning: Issuing permits for Pro-Am and professional boxing cards across the country.
  • Safety Protocols: Enforcing strict rules requiring trained medical personnel on-site, pre- and post-fight medical examinations, and formal coordination with local police.
  • Ecosystem Development: Transitioning the sport into a modern framework, positioning Trinidad and Tobago as a central hub for professional boxing in the Caribbean, and driving sports tourism.
  • Community Outreach: Implementing grassroots, community, and school-level development programs designed to guide youth away from anti-social behaviour through combat sports.
